On my hike to False Kiva I found myself trying to get down the same area this Desert Bighorn ram was trying to get up. I decided to let him have the right of way.
I was really happy too see this animal. It was my first desert bighorn sighting, which is fairly rare. These magnificent animals were once feared of becoming extinct, but are now making a tentative comeback. Having adapted to a hot, dry climate, desert bighorns have smaller bodies, longer legs and lighter coats than their rocky mountain counterparts. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces.
