Artist's Comments

The Milky Way rises from behind a large sea stack on the Olympic Peninsula.

I usually don't do a lot of night photography, but this was the scene just a few feet from our campsite so I really couldn't pass it up. This is probably the most visible I've seen the milky way to my naked eye.

Is there some tread left on those tires, or is it just like throwing a hot dog down the hallway? Family Guy

Wow. This is such an amazing shot.
This is exactly how the sky looked when I'd go hiking. Such fond memories, so thank you for posting this.
